Sen Ted Cruz announces his candidicy for President

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz has announced via Twitter that he is running for president of the United States in the 2016 election. He wrote simply "I'm running for President, and I hope to earn your support." He is the first person of either party to officially announce his candidacy.
