Eight heroin overdoses in one town on one night highlight epidemic
The town of Washington Pennsylvania recently had eight people in completely separate incidents overdose on heroin in one night, highlighting town officials said, how bad the problem has become. National officials are also calling for action as heroin use across the country has skyrocketed. Some have suggested the surge is due to the increase in abuse of prescription pain killers-when the prescriptions run out, abusers turn to heroin, a very close replacement.
